Ten skippers arrived to a calm morning with little to no wind ready to contest the Bourneville Trophy for the Marblehead Class at Harts Mill, Port Adelaide on 27 August. RO Johan Bergkvist was able to set a course to suit the variable South to South West breeze that was slowly building such that a race could be started.

A couple of slow races followed with one causing some to not meet the time out after the first boat crossed the line.

The wind strengthened a little which provided some good A suit conditions.

After lunch the wind direction changed and increased in strength but remained such that all continued with A suits.

Bournville 2023Good racing was had with most entrants competing until near the end of the days racing.

Congratulations to Scott Mitchell for taking out the trophy followed by Paul Littledyke and John Gratton.

The mid fleet result was close. Scott Mitchell got nine wins and nothing worse than a second and won the day in style. The usual suspects filled the remaining top spots with Peter White sailing very well for a fourth spot. The sailing was very orderly with not a single OCS all day.

Thanks to David Clayton (boat driver), Graham Ingerson and Alan Gold (scorers), Rob Cameron (observer) and Johan Bergkvist (RO) for volunteering!
