Supporting Radio Sailing Across Australia

The Australian Radio Yachting Association (ARYA) is the National Authority for radio sailing in Australia and the recognised National Class Association affiliated with Australian Sailing.

Working in partnership with State Associations and clubs across the country, ARYA promotes participation, supports competition and helps ensure the continued growth and success of radio sailing at every level.

What We Do

ARYA provides leadership, guidance and support for radio sailing throughout Australia by:

  • Promoting and developing the sport nationally
  • Supporting State Associations and affiliated clubs
  • Coordinating national initiatives and strategic development
  • Managing sail number registrations and class certificates for recognised classes
  • Providing event management resources, including Notices of Race and Sailing Instructions
  • Training, qualifying and developing Race Officers, Judges, Umpires and Measurers
  • Reviewing and adopting amendments to the World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing for use in Australia
  • Supporting the delivery of national and international championships

Representing Australia Internationally

As a member of the International Radio Sailing Association (IRSA), ARYA represents Australian interests in the development of international radio sailing policy, class rules and regulations.

ARYA also communicates international developments and rule changes to State Associations, clubs and sailors throughout Australia.

Working Together

ARYA is governed by an Executive Committee elected by its member State Associations. Specialist committees, including the Race Management Committee and Regatta Committee, provide expertise and support across key areas of the sport.

Together with clubs, volunteers and sailors across Australia, ARYA is committed to fostering a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable future for radio sailing.
