Sailing@Lightsview skipper Tony White has won back to back championships, winning the 2021 SA DF95 Championship sailed at West Lakes on 04 December.

It was really awesome to see 12 boats make the start line for the 2nd running of the SA DF95 Championship.

The morning session started on A rigs and saw the first casualty for the day being young Cameron White who salt dipped his transmitter (better luck next year), at the same time Johan Bergkvist opened the account strongly with several heat wins and 2nd places. Tony White, Phil Burgess, John Wyatt all achieved heat wins and several top finishes setting the tone for the racing to come.

The afternoon session had a quick change to B rigs (for those who had them), the local sea breeze freshened beyond what the BOM predicted and Phil started to make his move (however he did punctuate his performance with some interesting blemishes). B rigs saw Anthony Wilson and Guy Wallis both making charges up the leaderboard. Tony read the conditions and swapped down to a C (where he charged forward then to have a fried rudder servo putting a DNF on the board), the subsequent rig change time gave him sufficient time for DF95 open heart surgery with several skippers helping him fix the boat.

All done and dusted after 20 heats (on just about every rig in the bag) the results were Tony White 1st, Johan Bergkvist 2nd, Phil Burgess 3rd.

Honourable mentions:
Stephen Cibich (receiving a DF transmitter strap) for buying the boat without explicit permission from the better half)
Mike Marshall (ONBO DF battery) for helping out the class and keeping everyone enthusiastic through the fleet
Bruce Backman (ONBO DF battery) for grabbing a loan DF95 and learning vertically - now you need to go buy one!
