It's been a big three weeks of sailing for the new Victorian IOM State Champion.
After spending a couple of weeks in Adelaide with a creditable 6th in the SA Marblehead States over the weekend of 22-23 Sept, followed by winning the RC Laser Australian Championship a week later, Scott Fleming has taken out the VIC IOM State Championship sailed over the weekend of 6-7 October at Edgewater.
While the fleet was relatively small in comparison to previous years it still attracted an extremely competitive fleet with sailors from SA & QLD joining the locals.
Flemo kicked off with a win in races 1 & 2 and was never headed holding the overnight lead after day one and while Kirwan Robb pressed hard, Flemo withstood the pressure to claim the title with South Australian Brett Osborn moving through to third overall on the final day.
