The F6's of Scott Fleming (VIC) and Lincoln McDowall (VIC) top the leaderboard at the end of day one of the AUS Marblehead championship at Yarrawonga, VIC.
The day started with 14 knots from the S/W, which saw all 3 fleets start on B rigs. Our PRO, Owen Jarvis set a great long course seeing the boats stretch there legs, with some good close racing. With Indie, Grunge’s, F6, F5, F4, Paradox, Nioutram, Prime Number and other designs making up the fleets, no one design seemed to have an advantage.
The day saw wins to Wallis, Reid, Fleming, Condie & Mitchell and with a strong showing from the Red Ant boys in the afternoon sailing there F6.
With the direction and breeze holding into the afternoon the racing started to get tight at the top. With the F6 design by Red Ant hitting it straps and they where shaping as the boats to beat. With the last 2 round sailed in top end B rigs Condie and his red Grunge started to find his grove.
The day ended with race 7B being completed, which will see the A fleet first on the water tomorrow.
